Technical SEO consultancy for small businesses: I find what holds your site back, tell you what to fix first and explain why.
By Kean Carl Donato · Published
Short answer: an SEO consultant studies your site, finds what stops search engines from finding and trusting it, and gives you a clear plan. I am Kean Carl Donato, a freelance SEO consultant and web developer in the Philippines, working remotely with small businesses worldwide.
What I do as an SEO consultant
Crawlist is a technical SEO, GEO and AEO consultancy. I look at your site the way a search engine and an AI tool would, and then tell you what to change. The work covers crawling and indexing, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, structured data, on-page content and AI answer visibility. See all services.
How a project works
- Discovery. You tell me about your business, your goals and your site. I check Search Console and analytics if you can share them.
- Audit. I crawl the site and review what search engines and AI crawlers can see. Details on the SEO audit page.
- Prioritised plan. You get a list of fixes ordered by impact, with the evidence for each one.
- Fixes. You or your developer make the changes. If you need a website built or rebuilt, I also do that under 404 Studio.
- Reporting. I explain progress in plain language, using measures you care about, such as clicks, calls and bookings.
Technical SEO consultancy
Technical SEO is the base the rest depends on. If search engines cannot crawl, understand and index your pages, even great content may never be found. I fix the foundation first: robots.txt, sitemaps, canonical tags, redirects, speed, mobile use and structured data.
Who it is for
I focus on small businesses such as salons, barbershops, restaurants and local shops, and on websites that should bring in customers from search. See SEO for small businesses. If every customer already comes from referrals or ads, you may not need much SEO yet, and I will tell you so.
Consultant, freelancer or agency?
A consultant tells you what to do and why, and can help carry it out. An agency usually sells a larger ongoing service with a team. A freelancer gives you direct contact with the person doing the work. Choose by scope, process and communication, not only price. My guide on how to choose an SEO specialist lists questions to ask any provider, including me, and how SEO is priced explains what changes the cost.
What I will not promise
I do not guarantee rankings, traffic or citations in AI answers. Nobody outside the search engines can. I focus on what you control: a fast, crawlable, clearly structured site with useful, verifiable content.
